Merged Files vs Separate Files

Why it matters - and how to fix a mistake in seconds.

Key definitions

  • Separate file

A PDF that contains one and only one document - e.g. a single set of meeting minutes (2025-03-12-AGM.pdf) or a single depreciation report.

  • Merged file

A PDF that combines multiple documents - minutes + bylaws + Form B, or different years of minutes - all stitched into one file. Size is irrelevant; it's the mixed content that matters.

Why we care

  • Our AI automatically splits merged files into their individual components for accurate processing.
  • Properly categorized files ensure faster processing and more accurate results in your final report.
